Bigg Boss 13's Vikas Fhatak aka Hindustani Bhau arrested for travelling in ambulance to stage a protest amid curfew

Bigg Boss 13 contestant Vikas Fhatak, who is better known as Hindustani Bhau, was arrested by the Shivaji Park police on Saturday afternoon for violating the COVID-19 rules that prohibits the movement of public in Mumbai unless for emergerncy purposes.

On Friday, Vikas had posted on Twitter that he was going to stage a protest by himself against the government to cancel all exams for students. He had announced that he will going to Dadar's Shivaji Park at 12 pm on Saturday.

In order to reach the spot, Vikas used an ambulance to ensure he will not be stopped by the police. And since the ambulance falls under emergency services, the police don't stop the vehicle at any checkpoints.

When the local police learned that Vikas has reached Shivaji Park, a team of police detained him from the spot at 12.30 pm. Vikas was being surrounded by almost 15 media persons who had reached the spot before cops and filmed the incident while he was being escorted by the police in their van.

The police said that it was merely a gross publicity stunt when asked whether Vikas used an ambulance to travel to the spot. "Yes. It's a gross publicity stunt with misuse of a vital medical facility," Pranaya Ashok, DCP zone 5 told The Indian Express. He further added, "He has been detained. An FIR is being registered. He is likely to be arrested."
