Sharon Stone recalls being on 'synthetic heroin' to reduce pain after the deadly stroke

Basic Instinct actress Sharon stone recently released her autobiography, a memoir called The Beauty of Living Twice. In the memoir, Stone majorly opened up on the deadly stroke that almost cost her, her life. The actress opened up on experiencing unbearable pain due to the brain hemorrhage which was why she was put on synthetic heroin. "The pain was still so wildly intense I was put on a 24/7 drip of Dilaudid a kind of synthetic heroin." Sharon Stone said. The Sliver actress revealed that while she was hurting, she was attracted to a "luminous light" but she chose to fight and "made a choice to survive."

After the stroke and her admission to the hospital, Sharan experienced a lack of proper bodily functions. She revealed she was "unable to get up or stand or even think clearly." The medics had to perform an angiogram on the actress in which they found that her "right vertebral artery, which is one of the two connecting your head to your back and spine, was torn to a fine shred."Sharon recalled bleeding into her face, brain, head and spine. The chances of survival were only one percent, but the actress would lucky enough to come under the one percent of patients. The Specialist actress recalled having a "titled walk" thereafter wherein she would have to drag her right leg while walking.

She also recalled having the left side of her face distorted and that she wouldn't feel anything from the knee-up in her leg. "I was talking, not knowing I was stuttering, not realising that the walls didn't really have blocks of colours on them. I'd lost directional hearing in my right ear... my right ear was so f'ed up that I had to turn my head to the left and watch people's lips to understand what they were saying. I had an incomplete sense of what was going on around me I had lost my short-term memory," Sharon said.

Other effects of the stroke that Sharon Stone suffered from included unable to read anything for two years, shor-term memory loss to name a few. The actress's head hurts still but she's got back her sensory experiences in the leg.
