Say what! Ajay Devgn's Maidaan to feature football players from all across the world

Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan is one of the highly-anticipated films of the year. While the film is scheduled to hit in October 2021, director of the film has revealed that football players from all across the world will feature in this sports drama. Talking to an entertainment portal, director Amit Sharma said that players from Japan, South Korea, France and Thailand will be seen in the match sequences. In fact, the players of Thailand are already in India and are waiting for director, who is recovering from COVID. The filmmaker also said that they are facing problems in getting Australian players as the country is under lockdown.

Amit Sharma is going all out said that there will be no compromise on the quality of the film. Talking about Maidaan, it is based on the "golden years of Indian Football". Ajay essays the role of the legendary coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who is said to be the founding father of Indian football. He was an Indian football coach and manager of the Indian national team from 1950 until his death in 1963. He is also regarded as the architect of modern Indian football. The film features The Family Man actress Priyamani as the female lead.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn will be next seen Bhuj: The Pride Of India, which will stream on Disney Hotstar. The film also features Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi and others in pivotal roles. Set during the Indo-Pak war of 1971, it narrates the tale of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik. For those unaware, Vijay Karnik was in-charge of the Bhuj Airport during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. On the other hand, Sanjay Dutt plays the character of Ranchordas Svabhai Ravari, who helped the army during the war. While Nora Fatehi will play an Indian spy named Heena Rehman, Sonakshi Sinha will be seen as a social worker named Sunderben Jetha Madharparya.
