The 67th National Film Awards were recently announced and once again, we saw celebs from south bagging the top honours. While Dhanush won the Best Actor for his performance in Asuran (shared with Manoj Bajpayee for Bhonsle), Vijay Sethupathi bagged the best supporting actor for his portrayal of a transgender in Super Deluxe.
Mohanlal's directorial debut Barroz goes on floors
Megastar Mohanlal, who has been ruling the Malayalam industry for over four decades, is all set to don the director's hat for the first time, for Barroz, which is a children fantasy film. The actor recently started its shooting and shared this news on Instagram through a video, in which he said, "In the wonderful paths that life travelled through, without even realising it, I became an actor and a filmmaker. Cinema became my life and livelihood. Now, I am setting out on another wonderful journey; with the start of the Barroz shoot on March 24, I am making my debut as director. It is a blessing that I have Navodaya with me in their venture. I request that you support me as the Barroz journey gets underway."
Big update of Prabhas-Deepika Padukone's mega-budget film
Prabhas is currently one of the hottest properties of entertainment with biggies like Adipurush, Radhe Shyam, Salaar and Nag Ashwin's under his belt. Now talking about the latter venture, which is said to be an apocalyptic film set in futuristic timelines, the makers are planning to make it a pan-world film as it will be also released in the dubbed English language. Well, with this strategy, Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone starrer will become the first pan-world film from India.
This actress to romance Ram Charan in Shankar's pan-India film?
In the last month, we saw a huge announcement of maverick filmmaker Shankar and Ram Charan coming together for a pan-India venture, which will be produced by Dil Raju. While the film is set to go on floors in June, the latest reports suggest that Kabir Singh and Laxmii's actress, Kiara Advani, has been approached by the makers to play the female lead in the mega-budget film. Reportedly, the actress has liked her part but is yet to sign on the dotted lines.
