Drushyam 2: Venkatesh steps into Mohanlal's shoes for the Telugu remake; Rana Daggubati attends the mahurat

Drishyam 2 turned out to be as good a movie as the first one. Everyone who has seen the movie cannot stop raving about it. Now, the makers are gearing up for the Telugu remake of Drishyam 2. It stars Venkatesh in the lead role. The mahurat of the movie happened in Ramanaidu Studios. Rana Daggubati and his father, Suresh Babu Daggubati also attended the pooja. Filmmaker Jeethu Joseph was also present. Well, we must say that the production of the Telugu version started really quick! Superstar Venkatesh is working on a couple of remakes. He is also doing Narappa, which is the remake of the Dhanush film, Asuran.

Mohanlal has put in a power-packed show in Drishyam 2. Many people were worried about how they would recreate that amount of suspense, but the makers did it. Jeethu Joseph took a long time to finalise the script for the sequel. It seems Drishyam 2 is made on a budget of Rs 20 crore. It has made Rs 40 crore so far from Amazon Prime Video. The OTT rights were reportedly sold for Rs 25 crore. The TV premiere will be done by Asia Network. They have paid Rs 15 crore for the film. So, the producers are literally laughing all the way to the bank.

Mohanlal had earlier said, "I trust my directors, writers, colleagues and fans. It's a blessing to be doing this magic for all these years and to still continue. My movies are the secret of my success. The kind of films I'm doing, the way directors are using me as an actor, all of that has contributed."
