Amitabh Bachchan has undergone an eye surgery. The megastar posted yesterday on his blog that he has to undergo a surgery but did not disclose details. On Saturday night, he wrote, "Medical condition... surgery... can't write." His legion of fans were stressed as he has been battling health issues since a while now. Prayers poured in for the actor from all over the globe. As we know, he got COVID-19 last year and spent a fortnight in the Nanavati Hospital of Juhu. People were wondering what the surgery was about. As we know, his health suffered after the near-fatal accident on the sets of Coolie.
Now, tabloid mid-day has learnt that he underwent an eye surgery on Saturday at The Vission Eye Centre in Juhu. The procedure was conducted by Dr Himanshu Mehta. A source told the paper, "Bachchanji went to the ophthalmology centre at 10 am, accompanied by wife Jaya and daughter Shweta. He was wearing a white kurta pyjama with a black jacket. In a matter of two hours, he was done and left for Jalsa by noon."
It seems the megastar wore huge shades on his way out to protect his eyes. Dr Himanshu Mehta is his long-time eye doctor. The actor was diagnosed with coronavirus last year. Abhishek Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan were also hospitalised. Wishes came flooding in and prayers were held in top temples of the country. Amitabh Bachchan was now busy with the shoot of MayDay. The film has Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles. YouTuber CarryMinati is also a part of it. The actor's films Chehre and Jhund are also up for release.
While Chehre is coming at the end of April, Jhund which is a movie by Nagraj Manjule of Sairat fame. We wish Big B a speedy recovery.
