Tuesday Trivia: Did you know that Hrithik Roshan was supposed to make his Hollywood debut opposite Aishwarya Rai in THIS detective movie?

They say that Hrithik Roshan has all that it takes to be a superstar leading man not only in Bollywood, but also in Hollywood. In fact, there has been a lot of talk about this Hollywood project and that Hollywood project that the Greek God may have been offered, with many simply wondering why he hasn't yet sold his wares in the west. Well, you'd be surprised to know that Hrithik Roshan had been confirmed to debut in a major studio-backed Hollywood film, which was a sequel to an already successful movie, incidentally, a remake of an even-more successful franchise decades ago. What's more, Hrithik was supposed to have debuted opposite none other than Aishwarya Rai in it. Is the curiosity killing you? Well, read on to know which film we're talking about.

It was The Pink Panter 2 that Hrithik Roshan was supposed to make his Hollywood debut in, where he was initially offered Andy Garcia's role. Being a huge Steve Martin fan, the actor was keen to do it, but eventually declined the offer after being unsatisfied with this character and unable to convince the makers to add more meat to his part. A source close to the superstar had revealed, "Hrithik is a huge fan of Steve Martin and was excited to work with him, but the role offered was not substantial. He politely informed the producers that he wouldn't be able to do it."

Word is that Hrithik was supposed to play the part of Vincenzo Roccara Squarcialupi Brancaleon that ultimately went to Oscar nominee Andy Garcia. Apparently, Hrithik's father, Rakesh Roshan, had disclosed the news to another source, saying, "Yes. Hrithik was offered Andy Garcia's role, but it didn't excite him much."

What's more, another source close to the project had also opened up saying that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had only signed on the dotted line expecting Hrithik to be coming on board. "Ash had been informed by her agent that Hrithik might play a part in the film. She didn't know he had backed out. Ash was very disappointed that Hrithik wouldn't be doing the film. She was excited about working with him in a Hollywood film," the industry insider had informed.

Well, fingers crossed that we do get to see Hrithik Roshan in a major Hollywood movie, playing a major role one day.
