Back in 2014, Mohit Suri delivered a surprise superhit in the form of Ek Villain, a pretty faithful unofficial remake of the Korean masterpiece, I Saw the Devil, which had presented Riteish Deshmukh in an altogether different light while cementing Shraddha Kapoor's perpetually growing stardom and making us believe that Sidharth Malhotra could be the next big thing in Bollywood at that point in time. Now, six and a half years later (seven and a half when it'll finally hit screens), Director Mohit Suri is returning with the sequel, titled Ek Villain returns, with an all-new lead cast, comprising John Abraham, Disha Patani, Tara Sutaria and Arjun Kapoor. John has just dropped the first-look poster and release date (11thFebruary 2022), raising our anticipation for the movie further.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, John Abraham wrote: "Iss kahaani ka hero, villain hai! #EkVillainReturns, 11th Feb, 2022 @ektarkapoor #BhushanKumar @mohit11481 #ShobhaKapoor @RuchikaaKapoor @arjunk26 @DishPatani @TaraSutaria @amul_mohan @balajimotionpic @TSeries #BalajiMotionPictures ." Aditya Roy Kapur had initially been confirmed for Ek Villain 2 as he and Director Mohit Suri were keen to work together after both had delivered a hit after some time with Malang last year. However, owing to creative difference, things did not work out and the two amicably parted ways after which Arjun Kapoor was roped in for the part.
