Ananya Panday debuted with Student Of The Year 2. The actress received a lot of appreciation for her performance in the film and she even won the Filmfare award for it. Post that we saw her in Pati Patni Aur Woh and Khaali Peeli. While Ananya did SOTY 2, she was being compared with Alia Bhatt. so much so that she was called the next Alia Bhatt. Well, ofcourse, the reason is their debut films, girl next door image and bubbly attitude. However, Ananya Panday actually has some different plans. A source reveals that the actress wants to model her career on the lines of Deepika Padukone.
The source shares, "Ananya doesn't want to be cast into a particular image. She wants to do roles that help her portray versatility. So be it glam or girl next door roles, she wants to be able to play varied characters, and be able to come across as relatable to the audience. She's been following and observing Deepika's body of work and is an admirer of how Deepika can do an XXX: Return of Xander Cage, Padmaavat, Piku and Chhapaak, and be convincing in all the characters that are too far apart." Well, it seems the Student Of The Year 2 actress is making a smart move by not restricting herself. Talking about her future projects, the actress will be seen in Shakun Batra's untitled 2021 romantic drama with Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
She will also be seen opposite Vijay Deverakonda for Puri Jagannadh's multilingual film Liger. Recently, the release date of the film was revealed. We will get to see the Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer in theatres on September 9 this year. Karan Johar who bankrolls the film, shared the official poster, where Vijay is seen dressed in a black vest and grey joggers. He holds a rod and sports an intense look.
