Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda, has stood up to a troll who dared target her mother, Shweta Bachchan, out of the blue, and that, too, on a post she shared for women empowerment, and in particular, growing up around strong "working women". Basically, Navya Naveli Nanda had recently launched Project Naveli, an organisation with its prime goal focused on the promotion of gender neutrality, which is where said troll felt entitled to pass a disrespectful, unprovoked remark against her mother.
As a part of the project, Navya Nanda had spoken about the kind of impression the women in her family have had on her for a profile on Vogue magazine. However, no sooner had her profile appeared online, that a troll took it upon himself to question her what her momma, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, did for a living. "What work does her mother do? LOL," dropped the troll in the comments section. Though easy to ignore the comment, Navya Naveli Nanda did one better by not only giving a fitting response, but also naming and shaming the troll by posting a screenshot of their comments to each other along with a small note on her Instagram story, where she succinctly highlighted why one should never devalue the role of a homemaker.
"She's an author, writer, designer, wife and mother," responded Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter, sticking up for her mumma, after which she wrote on Instagram: "Being a mother and a wife is a full-time job. Please don't discredit women who are homemakers. Their role is so crucial in the upbringing of a generation that will hopefully support their contribution instead of tearing it down."
