RRR: RELEASE DATE of the Jr. NTR and Ram Charan starrer announced with this smashing new poster

It is official. The much-awaited pan-India film, the multi-starrer RRR, will have a worldwide release on October 13, 2021, on the festive occasion of Dussehra. Starring Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Samuthirakani and Allison Doody amongst a host of other popular actors from across several industries of Indian cinema, the SS Rajamouli-directed RRR is a period action movie, loosely based on largely overlooked chapter of India's freedom struggle, which portrays a fictional take on the lives of Telugu freedom fighters, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharama Raju, before they started their fight for independence.

Speaking about this development, producer DVV Danayya said, "We have come to the end of RRR's shooting schedule and are very excited to bring this film to the audiences. We are happy to celebrate a massive festival like Dussehra with the audience, in the theatres."

Earlier, Komaram Bheem's grandson and his tribespeople had opposed Jr. NTR's look in RRR, in a statement that read: "Komaram Bheem fought against the Nizam and his Razakar army. He took up arms against Nizam soldiers until his last breath. Why has Rajamouli shown Komaram Bheem wearing a Muslim skull cap? This has hurt the sentiments of thousands of adivasis. Such blatant falsehood in the name of history. If he wants to make a movie, let him show the belly buttons of women. Why insult our God? If Rajamouli fails to remove such portrayal of Komaram Bheem, we will dig his grave. For us, Komaram Bheem is our deity. We even pray to him and observe Aswayuja Powrnami to commemorate his life. Portraying Komaram Bheem as a Muslim is an affront to his family and the entire Gond tribe. Rajamouli is spreading falsehood. He has not visited any of the villages in Adilabad, did not speak to the aadivasis before making the movie. Rajamouli, you remove the scene, or you will face our wrath."

Produced by DVV Danayya, RRR is directed by one of India's most celebrated filmmaker, SS Rajamouli, and is set to release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and several other Indian languages.
