After impressing the audience and critics with his Munna Bhaiyya character in Mirzapur, actor Divyendu Sharma is playing the character of engineer in the film titled Mere Desh Ki Dharti. The satirical venture will revolve around the problems of farmers in the country. Talking about the venture, Divyendu said, "This film is very, very close to my heart and that's why I am very protective about this film. I really want this film to reach out to as many people as possible, especially the farmers so maybe whatever we have done in the film if that could inspire them, not solve but assist them in any way in their problems would be a great thing, a great start."
He added, "This is a special one for me and especially the current scenario, what's happening with the farmers, it becomes more important." The film is directed by Faraz Haider and produced by Carnival motion pictures. It also stars Anupriya Goenka, Anant Vidhaat, Rajesh Sharma and others in key roles. Mere Desh Ki Dharti will hit the screens this year.
The actor earlier spoke about the reactions of his character of Munna Bhaiyya getting appreciated and told IANS, "The whole reason for me to be happy is that now people look at me as a complete actor. If I can do Liquid and Munna, you have two things to compare because they are absolutely North Pole to South Pole. There will always be people who will try to give you a similar kind of role. You can't really blame people."He added, "Every project cannot be a great or an epic project. So it's just that you have to keep moving forward with conviction. I think that is a very good start. "
