In recent times, we have seen Korean dramas garnering a huge fan-base in India along with K-Pop bands like BTS, Blackpink, Seventeen and others dominating the global music charts. While we are loving their content and music, some of the amazing talents from the Korean industry left us at very young age, which left us shocked and disappointed. Stars like Song Yoo-jung, Oh In Hye sent shockwaves with their sudden demise. Here's a list of seven such Korean stars who bid us farewell all too soon.
Song Yoo-jung
The actress died on January 23, 2021 at the age of 26. Sublime Artist Agency wrote a eulogy in an Instagram post for the actress that read: "Yoo-jung was a friend who always gave us happiness with a bright smile, and an awesome actress who acted with a passion bigger than anyone." The official statement didn't disclosed the reason of her demise.
Oh In Hye
Oh In Hye died reportedly by suicide on September 14, 2020. The 34-year-old actress, who had a degree in Korean broadcasting and entertainment, featured in movies like Sin of a Family, A Journey with Korean Masters and Eating, Talking, Faucking.
Go Soo Jung
Go Soo Jung reportedly died due to a chronic, unspecified illness on February 7, 2020, at the age of 24. She was seen in the popular drama Goblin as Ghost and also appeared in a supporting role Solomon's Perjury. She was also featured in the BTS music video, With Seoul.
Cha In-ha
The actor, who featured in films like Temperature of Love, The Banker, Clean with Passion for Now, passed away at the age of 27 in December 2019. While the demise came as a shock of everyone, the reason behind it was never disclosed.
Choi Jin-ri
Known by her stage na, Sulli, the actress, singer, and model passed away in October 2019 at the age of 25. She was found hanging at her own residence.
Jonghyun
Kim Jong-hyun aka Jonghyun was a member of the popular band, SHINee. In December 2017, he died by suicide at the age of 27. Two weeks before his death, he had sent a 47-line text to his friend, which was a suicide note and asked it to be released if he "disappear(ed) from the world."
Tany
Kim Jin-soo, who was known by his stage name, Tany, garnered popularity in 2016 for his song, Always Remember. He succumbed at the age of 22 on April 14, 2018, when his car collided with a structure and got completely destroyed.
