There were speculations that Deepika Padukone has reportedly started shooting for her new film with Shah Rukh Khan who was clicked outside Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. Reportedly, he was at the studios to start shooting for the rumoured film, Pathan. According to unconfirmed reports, the film Pathan also features John Abraham and it will be directed by Siddharth Anand. And there is no official announcement of the news yet, Deepika has confirmed that she will be seen sharing space with Shah Rukh Khan in Pathan.
While talking about the line-up of her upcoming films, Deepika confirmed that she was doing Pathan along with Mahabharata, a remake of Hollywood movie The Intern and Shakun Batra's film. "So, I immediately started with Shakun Batra's film, which is a relationship story that we haven't seen in Indian cinema before. Then there is Pathan, an action film with Shah Rukh Khan, next is Nag Ashwin's multilingual film with Prabhas," Deepika told Femina in an interview.
She further added, "Then I am doing a remake of Anne Hathaway's movie The Intern, which is so relevant in today's times when you have the millennial and the older generation coming together. And then, the most famous story coming out of our country, Mahabharata, in which I am playing Draupadi; I want to tell that story to the world."
A couple of weeks ago, Shah Rukh Khan had announced in a video message that he will be back on the big screen in 2021, and wished fans a belated happy new year. Shah Rukh, however, did not divulge details about his comeback project in the message, posted on Instagram and Twitter.
Shah Rukh Khan was last seen on the big screen in Aanand L Rai's 2018 film Zero, which was a flop. Talking about his mega project, Pathan, the film also reportedly stars Dimple Kapadia and will feature a cameo by Salman Khan. On the other hand, Deepika has just concluded shooting Shakun Batra's upcoming yet-untitled next. The film also stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday. She will also be seen in an untitled film with Amitabh bachchan and Prabhas, and she appears in 83 starring hubby Ranveer Singh.
