Every year, Bollywood introduces new jodis (pairs) to world of cinema while also brining back past successful pairs in new stories. While some are unconventional, some are real-life couples who spread their magic on celluloid, too. Since another year has come to an end, it is time to honour the Best Jodi of the past twelve months, who impressed the audience with their onscreen chemistry. Take a look at the nominations for the BL Best Jodi award of 2020 below:
Ajay Devgn-Kajol (Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior)
Ajay Devgn played the legendary Tanaji Malusare in his 100th film. It was the story of an unsung hero who played an important part in Indian history. And Kajol played Ajay Devgn's onscreen wife and left their fans in awe of their natural chemistry.
Aditya Roy Kapur-Disha Patani (Malang)
Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani's electrifying chemistry in Malang set the screens on fire. From performing underwater kisses to dancing sensually, Aditya and Disha's jodi was by far the one of the most loved jodis of the year. The two were paired opposite each other for the first time.
Sushant Singh Rajput-Sanjana Sanghi (Dil Bechara)
Casting director Mukesh Chhabra's movie directorial debut saw an unconventional romance between Sushant Singh Rajput and debutante Sanjana Sanghi in Dil Bechara. The movie was an official remake of Hollywood flick The Flaunt In Our Stars. The two came out to be one of the most cutest couples of 2020.
Deepika Padukone-Vikrant Massey (Chhapaak)
Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey again looked like an unconventional couple in Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak. While Deepika portrayed the character of Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor, Vikrant played the role of a social activist fights for the rights of acid attack survivors. One could hardly imagine the two getting romantically involved with each other. It was also the first time that Deepika and Vikrant were paired opposite each other.
Vidyut Jammwal-Shivaleeka Oberoi (Khuda Haafiz)
Vidyut Jammwal was paired opposite Shivaleeka Oberoi in a romantic action thriller Khuda Haafiz, which was helmed by Faruk Kabir. The film is based on true incidents and Vidyut was excited about doing the film based on a real life love story in a very contemporary setting.
Varun Dhawan-Sara Ali Khan (Coolie No. 1)
Bringing the younger crop of actors together is always a good idea to establish them as a fresh pair in the celluloid. And that's what happened in the remake of Coolie No. 1. Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan have been romantically paired together for the first time and it seems like the two energetic actors might strike a chord with the audience.
