#BLBestOf2020: Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo, Soorarai Pottru, Bheeshma — which is the Best South Film of the year? — vote now

With three quarters of 2020 being embroiled in lockdown, OTT content was the go-to option for most people when it came to their dose of entertainment. However, some films did manage to see the light of day in theatres before the coronavirus pandemic hit in all its force, and a few are now again trickling into cinema halls that lockdown has been slightly relaxed albeit with strict safety measures. To that extent, the South film industry has enjoyed better success than Bollywood (as it usually does, but this year has been far more telling) both in theatres and on OTT platforms. So, today, as a part of our #BLBestof2020 special, we are here to talk about the Best South Films of 2020, for which we've shortlisted six titles that made mostly the right kind of noise with the audience, and it's up to you to vote and tell us which is the best among them...

Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo (Telugu)

For all intents and purposes, the biggest hit and the most loved movie among all South releases across any medium this year, with Allu Arjun delivering the performance of a lifetime.

Soorarai Pottru (Tamil)

One of the most critically acclaimed South films of the year, it's a pity that this Suriya starrer had to go the OTT way, and during Diwali of all weekends, as it was tailormade to set the box-office on fire as a festive release.

Jaanu (Telugu)

The Telugu remake of the much loved Tamil film, '96, saw Samantha Akkineni and Sharwanand reprise Trisha Krishnan and Vijay Sethupathi's roles from the original to pretty good effect.

Bheeshma (Telugu)

Arguably the funniest film of 2020 across languages, Bheeshma saw Nithiin in rambunctious form as the makers laughed all the way to the bank.

Penguin (Tamil)

Keerthy Suresh once again proved her mettle in this trailer that enjoyed both accolades and criticism in the digital space.

Sarileru Neekevvaru (Telugu)

While critics had mixed reactions, the masses thoroughly embraced Mahesh Babu and Rashmika Mandanna's Sarileru Neekevvaru.

So, what are you waiting for? Get voting and decide who among these six is your Best Web Series/Web Movie Actress of 2020.
