Filmy Friday: Did you know Salman Khan hasn’t delivered a single flop since 2009?

We all know that Salman Khan is currently one of the most bankable stars in Bollywood. But you might be surprised to know that he hasn't delivered a single flop film since 2009. His last flop film was 2009's London Dreams. After that just a few of his films have been average or above average while most have been hits, semi hits, super hits or blockbusters.

Tiger Zinda Hai has been the most successful as it made Rs 339.15 crore followed by Bajrangi Bhaijaan which made Rs 321 crore and Sultan which made Rs 301 crore. Except Veer which collected Rs 37.5 crore, all of his films have made more than 100 crore in the past 10 years.

Salman has been the face of the successful Dabangg franchise as well. Did you know he was he wasn't the first choice to play Chulbul Pandey? Producer Arbaaz Khan made this revelation in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, and said, "When Abhinav narrated the script to me, I asked him why he wasn't offering me the role of the Robin Hood cop. But more than Chulbul, he saw me as Makkhi, which was an extension of my role in Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na. He was looking to cast Randeep Hooda or Irrfan Khan as the lead then but neither of them had been finalised. I offered to produce the film for him and asked him what if we got Salman on board as Pandey ji. He was instantly excited, and things quickly fell in place."

Talking about Dabangg 3, producer Nikhil Dwivedi had said in interview to Koimoi, "Dabangg 3's India's theatrical business was 173 crore. That is bigger than some of the biggest hits of many stars in this country. The problem is not you and I thinking the film has not done well. This entire fault only and only lies with Salman Khan. He has set such high standards and benchmark for himself that unless and until a film doesn't do 300-350 crores, people start to say his film has not done well. I have never even seen what 170 crore looks like. This has been one of the biggest hits of my career. What are we even talking about?"

Well, isn't that really impressive?
