One of the biggest production banners, Lyca Productions, who bankrolled expensive films like Kaappaan, 2.0 and are currently producing Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 and Mani Ratnam's multi-starrer Ponniyin Selvan, are reportedly foraying to Bollywood films and their first project will be with Abhishek Bachchan. The reports suggest that it will be actor's biggest film till date.
As per the PinkVilla report, a source close to the development said, "The team had been planning to make their foray into Hindi films for sometime, ever since Akshay Kumar & Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 released. They are looking at developing projects that cater to a pan-Indian audience." Talking about the project, the source added, "Lyca Productions has roped in Abhishek Bachchan as the male lead for their next. It's a taut thriller that has been in the works for sometime now. When Abhishek was approached for the same, he loved the whole concept and idea behind the project. It's going to be one of Abhishek's biggest films till date as the makers plan to mount it on a huge scale. It's tentatively titled 65 Karats, but that hasn't been locked."
Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan will be next seen in The Big Bull, which is based on real-life events of the financial market that took place between 1990 and 2000 involving Harshad Mehta and his financial crimes. The Film is produced by Ajay Devgn and Anand Pandit and directed by Kookie Gulati. It also features Ileana D'Cruz and Sohum Shah. Earlier, Abhishek Bachchan in an interview had said, "The Big Bull isn't historical. It is based in Mumbai in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It's a rags to riches story, a story of ambition that if you work towards your goal, you'll definitely achieve it." It will be released on Amazon Prime Video. So, are you excited for this venture?
