After questioning Deepika Padukone, her former manager Karishma Prakash, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh in a drugs case, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is likely to summon top eight Bollywood actors after their contacts were found in a drug peddler's phone, according to a report in Republic TV.
An earlier report had stated that three male Bollywood stars who are former co-stars of Deepika Padukone will be questioned over their alleged drugs chats. The report said that the NCB has found evidence against three male stars with code name A, S and R. They could be summoned in the days to come.
The NCB on Wednesday had refuted claims about clean chit given to Deepika, Sara, Shraddha and others saying such reports are "devoid" of "truth and facts". "The news article mentioning that the drugs law enforcement agency giviing clean chit to those examined by NCB is devoid of the facts and truth," an NCB official said. He said that the necessary "rebuttal" is being issued to the concerned.
Earlier, ASG Anil Singh of NCB had cleared the air that the onging investigation of Bollywood drug nexus is not related to Sushant's death investigation. "This is not a case related to Sushant Singh Rajput, he may have been one of the consumers but the entire transaction and deal is not restricted to him," Singh was quoted as saying by ANI while opposing bail pleas of Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty and others. "I want to point out that this a drug syndicate and that they are all interlinked. All persons arrested till now, are connected with each other and it is a syndicate. There were regular links & purchasing," he had further added.
