Anurag Kashyap was accused of sexual misconduct by Payal Ghosh on Saturday. Ever since the notes filmmaker has been getting a lot of support and backlash over the same. While there are actresses and insider people who have with him came out to support him, there are people from and outside the Hindi Film industry that have called out the producer-director for the alleged accusations. Payal Ghosh has claimed that the Gangs of Wasseypur helmer had tried to force himself on her when she has visited his house for a professional meeting.
From among the support that Anurag Kashyap received, Taapsee Pannu was one of those to extend support to him first. The issue is still a hot topic in the media portal as recently, the Pyayal lodged a police complaint against Kashyap at the Oshiwara police station. As per the latest reports, Kashyap has been booked on the charges of Rape by the Mumbai Police.
There would be an investigation of the same. however, the Sacred Games maker has denied all the accusations leveled against him. In a recent interview, Taapsee said that if the Manmarziyaan maker is found guilty, she would be the first one to break ties with him. "If he is found guilty, I'll be the first person to break all ties with him. But if the investigation is inconclusive, how can the sanctity of the #MeToo movement be sustained? How will real victims benefit from a power that's come to us after years of suppression? It's wrong for women to derail the movement. Abusing power isn't gender-specific," the Judwaa 2 actress told Mumbai Mirror.
Taapsee also added that the filmmaker would always give equal treatment to everyone while on the sets. "Anurag has a lot of respect for women, never badmouths anyone even if that person hasn't been kind to him in public. His is one of those rare sets where the number of women on the crew equals men, and they only have nice things to say about him. If someone has been harassed, let them initiate an investigation, let the truth come out," she added.
