Sushant Singh Rajput case: Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer wants CBI to set up an impartial medical board for probe

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in this apartment on 14th June 2020. His sudden and untimely demise shocked everyone to the core. People are demanding justice for the actor for months now, however, despite the case being handed over to the CBI, there is no justice that is seen. His family, friends and well-wishers are anguished about the repetitive delay. On one hand, the Narcotics Control Bureau is looking into the drug angle which has exposed the drug link in Bollywood, and on the other hand, CBI had sought AIIMSs' help for a medical report. For the uninitiated, there were allegations that when the Mumbai police were investigating the case, the medical report that was formed had a foul play.

However, despite the AIIMS official recreating the crime scene, there were no conclusive reports. It was also reported that the CFSL team believed that it was a suicide by partial hanging wherein the Sushant Singh Rajput hanged himself using his right hand. Sushant's family lawyer had expressed his displeasure over the probe and impending decision. And now, Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer, Satish Manshinde has asked CBI to set up an impartial medical board for the probe. "The disclosure of a 200% conclusion by an All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) doctor on the forensic team headed by Dr. Sudhir Gupta in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, on the basis of photographs, is a dangerous trend. To keep the investigations impartial and free from inference, the CBI must constitute a new medical board. The agencies are being pressurised to reach a pre-determined result for obvious reasons in view of upcoming Bihar elections. We have seen the VRS of DG (Gupteshwar) Pandey unfolding a few days back. There should not be a repetition of such steps," Manshinde said.

Rhea's lawyer was responding to Sushant's lawyer, Vikas Singh's tweet that read thus: "Getting frustrated by the delay in CBI taking a decision to convert abetment to suicide to murder of SSR. The doctor who is part of AIIMS team had told me long back that the photos sent by me indicated 200% that it's death by strangulation and not suicide."

"The family feels that the investigation is going in such a way that the truth is not coming out. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) case has become like the Mumbai Police investigation, all stars are now being called. The people called in and not are a part of a syndicate and not distributors. It is just a Mumbai Police type of investigation. Sushant's case has taken a back seat," Singh had added.

We hope the investigation speeds up and justice prevails.
