Sushant Singh Rajput case: Bombay High Court to hear 3 bail pleas; Rhea Chakraborty and brother Showik not on the list

The Bombay High Court is scheduled to hear the bail please of three individuals arrested udner drug charges filed by the NCB in connection to Sushant Singh Rajput's drug case, including that of Rhea Chakraborty's associate, Samuel Miranda, the actor's personal staff Dipesh Sawant and alleged drug peddler Abdul Basit Parihar at around 3 pm today, 18th September. However, neither a bail hearing for Rhea nor her brother, Showik Chakraborty, has been announced as both are yet to move the HC for their pleas.

Earlier, a Mumbai Sessions Court had rejected the bail application of Rhea Chakraborty and five other individuals arrested under drug-related charges by the NCB, including Rhea's brother, Showik Chakraborty, Abdul Basit, Zaid Vilatra, Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda, after which the lawyers have all the six accused were clearly apprised that they would need to approach the Bombay High Court for all bail hearings moving forward. Prior to this, Rhea's plea in Sushant Singh Rajput's case was rejected by a magistrate court, too, on the grounds that she's liable to influence other key witnesses in the case and/or tamper with crucial evidence. The actress is currently incarcerated at Byculla jail women's facility, and is expected to remain there in custody till 22nd September.

Coming to her brother, Showik Chakraborty, his bail application was opposed by the NCB on the grounds that Rhea had mentioned his name in her statement, indicating that he "is an active member of a drug syndicate connected with drug supplies".

Both the final investigation report of the CBI in Sushant's case as also the new medical report by the panel of doctors from Delhi's AIIMS hospital is expected to be filed by early next week as per a report in Times Now.
