Rhea Chakraborty has been subjected to witch-hunt ever since Sushant Singh Rajput's family filed an FIR accusing her of abetment to suicide. While people including Bollywood celebrities have been demanding justice for Sushant and want to know the reason behind his death, there's also a section which has been batting for Rhea against her vilification. People have become polarised between supporting Sushant and Rhea, with online campaigns #JusticeforSushant and #JusticeforRhea trending regularly. Sushant's friend and actress Aneesha Madhok too is against the kind of treatment that has been given to Rhea by the electronic media and people declaring her as a murderer on social media platforms.
Aneesha says that she want justice for Sushant but she also believes that people should treat his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty with respect. She feels Bollywood needs to be united on the subject. ""Bollywood shouldn't be divided. It is a multilayered situation. Being a friend of SSR, I would like his case to be taken seriously. I would like justice for his soul. At the same time, I believe that people should treat Rhea with respect. Sushant believed in peace and he would have wanted people to not hate," She told IANS. "I just want justice for Sushant. That's all I want. Time will tell if what is happening today is right or wrong," she added.
Recalling her happy memories of Sushant, Aneesha said, "I was introduced to Sushant by my mother, who met him at a Delhi party. We met for the first time when he came to New York for IIFA 2017. I was still studying at the University of Southern California. He was sweet enough to take me to IIFA, and he mentored me. He told me that I should get used to this stuff as that will be me someday on the red carpet! Imagine if you are in school and a celebrity tells you he believes in you?! He was such a positive influence," she recalled.
Meanwhile, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has submitted a report in the court saying that Rhea is an active member of a drug syndicate connected with high society personalities and drug suppliers. With several high profile Bollywood personalities being investigated by NCB, the enforcement body has now said clearly that "high society personalities" are involved with a drug syndicate and drug suppliers, of which Rhea is a member. Rhea is accused of harbouring late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput for consumption of drugs.
NCB said there is sufficient evidence to say that Rhea is involved in drug trafficking. She used to facilitate drug deliveries and payments through credit cards, cash and payment gateways for the contraband. Rhea also allowed her residence for drug storage and consumption for Sushant, NCB said. It further said that Rhea used to manage finance for drug procurement along with Sushant. She also used to procure drugs for Sushant, NCB said. NCB has also detailed drug transactions undertaken in this regard.
On the jurisdiction issue, NCB has affirmed that it has studied the Supreme Court order on CBI investigations in the unnatural death of Sushant, NCB said the present case pertains to NDPS and therefore it has jurisdiction.
