Anushka Shetty and R Madhavan's Nishabdham, which was scheduled to release in April, has now taken a digital route and release on an OTT platform on October 2 due to pandemic crisis. While the trailer of the film and Baahubali actress' performance looks intriguing you will be surprised to know that the director Hemanth Madhukar developed the story keeping Taapsee Pannu in his mind.
Talking to an entertainment portal, the director said, "Since I have known Taapsee for years, I briefly narrated the storyline of 'Nishabdham' to her on a couple of occasions. It was informal. After the story was developed, Kona Venkat garu (the film's writer) happened to meet Anushka ahead of a flight journey. Because the flight was getting delayed, he discussed the entire story in detail with Anushka, who totally loved it. Since she loved the story, we decided to go ahead with her." The multi-lingual film, which was supposed to release in five languages Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and English, also features Anjali, Michael Madsen, Subbaraju, Shalini Pandey and Srinivas Avasarala in pivotal roles.
Director Hemanth earlier revealed how Anushka prepared for her role in the film which was quite consuming. "Anushka learnt painting and sign language to play this character. We had artists and sign language instructors teaching her the nuances. She used to practise both every day," asserted the director. According to the makers, Nishabdam will be Tollywood's first crossover film and will star a bunch of actors from Hollywood as well. Kona Venkat, who is co-producing the film, had revealed that the film will be a horror-thriller and something which was never been attempted in Tollywood before. The music of the venture is composed by Gopi Sunder while the camera is cranked by Shaneil Deo who worked on Goodachari.
